Kleintjekunst
Alexandra Loembé has been working as a "Kleintjekunstenaar" since 2019 and has been providing interactive performances for zero to six year olds at preschools and daycare centers in Amsterdam. Based on her expertise as a maker, teacher and dancer, she has developed a program for Kleintjekunst in which she uses dance to generate sensory play in babies, toddlers and preschoolers. The goal is to let children experience different movement qualities in their own body in a style-transcending way, while also working on body awareness and the personal expressive-creative development of each child. Through the non-verbal transference and abstract materials dance is made accessible to various groups.
In 2022 Alexandra Loembé wrote an article for the Cultuur+Educatie journal of the LKCA about her work for Kleintjekunst, supported by the DAS Research Development Fund. Read it here.
